Customary Use
Grand Playa sits right on the Gulf. Along this coast, the wet sand below the mean high-water line is always open to the public. Where a beach has been rebuilt with public money, that open stretch can reach farther up, to a marked Erosion Control Line. The dry sand in front of it was granted public use by a court in 2024. A 2025 change to state law reopened that question, and the matter is unsettled today. Reflects the public record as of June 2026.
